Ryanair handles over nine milion pax in one month for the first time in Aug-2013

Ryanair stated (05-Sep-2013) it has become the first European airline to handle nine million passengers in one month, with traffic growth of 1% year-on-year to over nine million passengers in Aug-2013. Annual traffic to the end of Aug-2013 increased 2% to over 80 million passengers. Ryanair celebrated its first ever nine million passenger month by releasing 900,000 seats for travel in Oct-2013 and Nov-2013 with fares from EUR14.99. Ryanair's Robin Kiely said: "Ryanair carried over 9m passengers in August 2013, the first European airline to do so and our load factor also rose by 1% from 88% to 89%. Ryanair now carries 9m passengers in just one month whereas tiny Aer Lingus needs a whole year to carry 9m". [more - original PR]
