Jet2.com welcomed Greece’s suspension of EES biometric checks for UK passengers from 10-Apr-2026, after lobbying for a delay until systems and processes were ready, and urged other countries to follow suit, according to Jet2.com CEO Steve Heapy.1 Ryanair also contacted Malta’s Government over EES-related border delays at Malta International Airport, with Malta Air CEO David O’Brien warning capacity could be redirected if congestion became significant.2 Airlines for Europe and ACI EUROPE sought flexibility to suspend EES when waiting times became excessive after disruption at Schengen airports.3 4
