Ryanair calls for EU action ahead of latest ATC strike

Ryanair announced (27-Sep-2010) it will operate "hand baggage only" services to and from Spain on 29-Sep-2010, as the LCC called on the European Commission to take action to prevent further industrial action by Spanish air traffic control. Monarch Airlines stated all services operating to and from Spain and the Spanish Islands are likely to incur delays on 29-Sep-2010 and warned of the potential cancellation of services at short notice. Ryanair: "Europe's airlines and passengers have suffered at the hands of ATC providers all summer long and now, ahead of yet another Spanish ATC strike, Ryanair is calling on the EU to take action to prevent further strike action. Ryanair will not allow its passengers to be inconvenienced further by the selfish strike action by Europe's ATC providers and will operate flights to/from Spain with hand-luggage only on the Wednesday 29-Sep-2010 ...
