Russia's FAS reports composition of airline costs in 1Q2018

Russia's Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) reported (07-Jun-2018) the following composition of airline costs in 1Q2018:

  • Aircraft leasing: 27%, up from 15% in 2014;
  • Aviation fuel: 20%, down from 27%;
  • Airport expenses: 15%, down from 16%;
  • Maintenance: 11%;
  • Labour: 8%.

FAS Head Anatoly Golomolzin stated the share of aviation fuel in carriers' costs decreased as a result of the removal of intermediaries between suppliers and carriers from 2010 to 2015. [more - original PR - Russian]
