Russia's Airports of Regions pax down 2% in 2016

Russia's Airports of Regions reported (16-Jan-2017) Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov, Samara and Yekaterinburg airports handled 9.3 million passengers in 2016, down 2% year-on-year. Domestic passenger numbers increased 14% to 7.3 million and international passenger numbers decreased 36% to 2 million. Airports of Regions international traffic increased 16% year-on-year over Nov/Dec-2016 across all airports. Airports of Regions aeronautical business development director Sergey Dotsenko stated the airports conducted work on the replacement of Turkey and Egypt destinations and improvement of transit and ground handling services for passengers and carriers in 2016.
