Russian President highlights domestic tourism potential and need for infrastructure development
Russia's President Vladimir Putin announced (13-Jul-2020) Russia holds the resources for quality growth in the area of domestic tourism. Mr Putin said with many countries still closed for tourists, Russia must develop domestic travel. Mr Putin noted the need to develop infrastructure for tourism. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said the potential for growth in domestic tourism is enormous, with 60% of the population not travelling beyond their territory. Mr Chernyshenko noted the development of infrastructure for domestic tourists will also enhance the attractiveness of tourist attractions to international tourists.
