Rolls-Royce planned to transition the entire Trent 1000 TEN fleet to the XE standard by the end of 2027, having already delivered the first 787-9 powered by the Trent 1000 XE to Lufthansa in early Nov-2025. It expanded MRO capacity in Germany, Singapore and the UK to support this upgrade, with additional enhancement phases scheduled for 2026 to further improve durability and time-on-wing of the fleet1.
