Record year for Mahan Air in 2010

Mahan Air stated it experienced record traffic, fleet and network growth in 2010, with passenger numbers increased 47% to 3.8 million as capacity (ASK) increased 31% year-on-year (Mahan.aero, 06-Jan-2011). More than 15,700 scheduled passenger flights were undertaken in the year with an average load factor of 75% a notable improvement over the 2009 figure of 69%. The carrier's fleet increased to 32 aircraft during the year following the delivery of seven additional A300-600 aircraft. Additional aircraft capacity enabled Mahan Air to increase frequencies on domestic trunk routes from both Tehran and Mashad while international service frequencies were also increased to Bangkok, Istanbul and Amritsar. New scheduled service was launched to Kuala Lumpur, Almaty and Phuket during the 2010.
