Qantas head of commercial strategy and performance: 'We're done with pre-COVID' comparisons

Qantas Group head of commercial strategy and performance Scott Zeglin, speaking at Routes Asia 2025, stated (25-Mar-2025) the carrier's international capacity has reached 105% of pre-COVID-19 levels, compared to 102% for the overall market. Mr Zeglin said 2025 is "the new baseline" and the "new normal" without major "step changes" in capacity or demand, commenting: "We're done with pre-COVID" comparisons. He said that "the underlying demand flows have changed materially" since the pandemic, noting that several markets have changed "fundamentally" and consumer preferences are "quite different".
