Qantas Catering has reduced cost gap to parity between it and on-shore competitors

Qantas Group executive strategy, transformation and IT Rob Marcolina, speaking at the carriers’ 2015 investor day, said (12-May-2015) Qantas Catering has reduced its unit cost gap from >10% compared to on-shore competitors to parity. Mr Marcolina noted significant changes have been made including redesigned meals with no trays, process efficiency improvements and better matching labour supply to demand to increase productivity.
