Qantas 'always evaluating the different opportunities' in mainland China
Qantas Group head of commercial strategy and performance Scott Zeglin, speaking at Routes Asia 2025, commented (25-Mar-2025) on the mainland China market, stating the carrier is "always evaluating the different opportunities". Mr Zeglin said the Shanghai market has "changed very structurally" in terms of demand and the China market overall "has probably changed the most" since COVID-19. He said Hong Kong remains a "really good gateway" and noted "green shoots" in the market. Mr Zeglin said "the recovery is different" in Hong Kong, adding: "It doesn't look the same" as pre-COVID.
