Private jet operators to also pay APD

UK Chancellor George Osborne announced air passenger duty (APD) would also be imposed on private jet operators, in a move that is expected to cost private operators "tens of millions of pounds" each year (Loughborough Echo, 22-Mar-2011). Prviate jet operators would not have to pay APD until 2012 while a consultation is carried out on how the levy should be applied and at what rate.
