Philippine Airlines signed an MoU with Airbus to acquire nine additional A350-1000s, with purchase rights for five more, and also signed an MoU with Rolls-Royce for 18 Trent XWB-97 engines plus a proposed TotalCare package.1 PAL’s first two A350-1000s operated long haul services from Manila to New York JFK and Toronto Pearson, with PAL the only Southeast Asian operator of the A350-1000.2 3 Delta Air Lines later announced plans to enter the Los Angeles-Manila market from 28-Mar-2027 using A350-900s.4
