Passenger revenue down 19% in Sep-2009 - ATA

Air Transport Association of America (ATA) reported (20-Oct-2009) preliminary passenger revenue fell 19% year-on-year in Sep-2009, the eleventh consecutive monthly decline. According to ATA, passenger traffic on US airlines also fell 2%. [more]

ATA: "The demand for air travel remains weak, as evidenced by the untenable pricing environment. While other sectors may be seeing signs that the economy is getting back on track, the airline industry has faced challenges in its effort to generate revenue," James May, President and CEO.
