Pacific Islands are 'unlikely' to benefit from Open Skies, notes nothing to compete for

Association of South Pacific Airlines (ASPA) secretary general George Faktaufon, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, said (05-Aug-2016) Open Skies is something the Pacific Islands are unlikely to benefit from. Mr Faktaufon noted: "Open Skies bring a lot of competition and competition is good when there's something to compete for, but when you don't have much to compete for it's much more sensible for the islands to look at a controlled air system to ensure the continued viability of air transport."
