Oman Air does not expect to be profitable in 2009

Oman Air CEO, Peter Hill, confirmed the carrier will not be profitable in 2009, as the year is "not up to expectations" (Emirates Business 24/7, 07-Oct-09).

Oman Air: "We are not going to be in profit this year, that's for sure. And it's not going to be a figure that's better than last year as far as the bottom line is concerned. But business is not dropping any more...Most airlines are going to be losing money this year. We're not going to be turning in a black bottom line because we never budgeted for it. Look at the investment we're putting into the fleet. Oman Air is not developing this fleet for tomorrow. It's looking at five to 15 years down the line - the same as the government is with its Master Plan," Peter Hill, CEO. Source: Emirates Business 24/7, 07-Oct-09.
