Nigerian carriers conclude plans to raise fares

Nigerian domestic carriers concluded plans to raise their air fares by 20% "subtly and gradually" following a 10% increase in the price of aviation fuel popularly called Jet A1 (Punch Nigeria, 23-Jan-2011). Some carriers have reportedly begun a subtle and gradual increase of their fares. Airline Operators of Nigeria recently stated fares will increase by 20%. The planned increase followed a 10% increase in the price of aviation fuel price by oil marketers, starting from 10-Jan-2011.
