Namibia to implement visa on arrival scheme in Apr-2025
Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board, via its official Facebook account, announced (06-Mar-2025) Namibia plans to implement a visa on arrival scheme from 01-Apr-2025. The scheme will apply to nationals and citizens of countries that do not have visa exemption reciprocity with Namibia.
Background ✨
The visa on arrival scheme aligns with previous efforts to enhance Namibia's tourism sector. In 2019, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration initiated a pilot project at Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport to introduce e-visas and visas on arrival for select countries1. Additionally, Namibia is part of a regional effort to implement a single tourist visa for Angola, Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, modelled on the Schengen visa2.
