MTU Aero Engines reports double digit profit growth in first nine months of 2012, maintains guidance

MTU Aero Engines revenue up 19% - financial highlights for nine months ended 30-Sep-2012:

  • Revenue: EUR2468 million, +19.4% year-on-year;
    • OEM business: EUR1490 million, +15.4%;
      • Commercial engine business: EUR1142 million, +17.7%;
    • Commercial MRO business: EUR1002 million, +25.4%;
  • EBIT: EUR278.0 million, +13.3%;
    • OEM business: EUR194.1 million, +6.6%;
    • Commercial MRO business: EUR85.6 million, +29.9%;
  • Net profit: EUER160.4 million, +37.4%;
  • Order backlog: EUR11,711 million, +11.1% when compared to period ended 31-Dec-2011;
    • OEM business: EUR5786 million, +21.1%;
    • Commercial MRO business: EUR5925 million, +2.9%;
  • FY2012 forecast:
    • Revenue: EUR3300 million;
