Midway Airport receives third extension for privatisation timeline

US' Chicago City Council received its third extension for the privatisation of Chicago Midway Airport with the council to update the Federal Aviation Administration on its new strategy by 30-Nov-2010 (Dow Jones, 30-Jul-2010). The council previously attempted to privatise the airport in early 2009 but plans fell through after the winning bidders failed to secure sufficient funding.

Chicago City Council: "The city continues its review of market and other factors and has not yet made a decision on its next step to complete the privatisation of the airport. The city will report by 30-Nov-2010, on further developments." Spokesperson, Chicago City Council.
