Australia's Melbourne Airport reports (12-Aug-09) the following traffic highlights in Jul-09:

• Passenger numbers:
  • Domestic: n/a, -2%.
  • International: 445,949, +8.0%.

Melbourne Airport: "It has been the highest July on record for international passengers, with growth of 8% reaching a total of 445,949 passengers…Although our domestic figures are down, the introduction by Tiger of new services on the Melbourne-Sydney route is a sign of confidence in the market for the future," Chris Woodruff, Melbourne Airport CEO.
