Market is 'very good'; Airbus to increase production rates including A380: EADS

EADS CEO Louis Gallois stated the market is "very good for the time being" with Airbus to continue to "progressively" increase production rates as orders increase (Bloomberg, 13-Jul-2011). He added that the jet market "goes up and down" and Airbus is tapping current demand by "increasing the production rate of all our planes". A380 output will reach 25 aircraft in 2011, Mr Gallois said, although he did not disclose the production rate for 2012. The A330 production rate stands at 8.5 per month and will increase to 10 by mid-2013, with A320 production increasing from 38 aircraft per month in Aug-2011 to 42 in 2H2012. Airbus has gained orders in 1H2011 and has handed over 248 aircraft to customers in 1H2011, eight more than in 1H2010.
