Malta Airport reports record pax in Aug-2012

Malta International Airport reported (05-Sep-2012) a 7.9% year-on-year increase in passenger numbers to a record 461,153 in Aug-2012, surpassing the previous record of 445,232 passengers in Jul-2012. Seat capacity at the airport also reached an all-time record of 536,632, up 7.5%, while average load factor increased 0.2 ppt to a record 85.9%. Cargo volume during the month increased 14.6% and aircraft movements increased 6.6%. According to the airport, all the core markets reported increases with Germany and France growing significantly by 14.7% and 14.6% respectively, while Spain and Italy reported an increase of 6.2% and 5.7% respectively.
