MAHB considering several terminal expansion projects at Kuala Lumpur International Airport

Malaysia's Transport Ministry stated Malaysia Airports (MAHB) is considering several terminal expansion projects at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) (The Star, 12-Dec-2024). This includes a phased upgrade of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, increasing T1's capacity to 59 million passengers p/a and T2's capacity to 67 million. The Ministry stated: "MAHB is also considering the development of a fourth runway and a new Terminal 3 (T3) in the future". It added: "Combined, this long-term expansion plan is expected to increase KLIA's capacity to [140 million passengers p/a], as well as the number of aircraft movements per hour from 108 to 154".
