Libyan Airlines and Afriqiyah Airways plan merger

Afriqiyah Airways and Libyan Airlines expect to receive government approval to merge by 15-Oct-2010, according to Arab Air Carrier Organisation (AACO ) (Transport Journal, 27-Sep-2010). Libyan African Aviation Holding Company's chairman, Sabri Shadi, stated the carriers also plan to spend EUR4 billion on new aircraft by the end of 2012.
