LATAM CEO Enrique Cueto to step down in Mar-2020, CCO Roberto Alvo named as incoming CEO

LATAM Airlines Group announced (11-Sep-2019) the appointment of Roberto Alvo as group CEO, effective 31-Mar-2020. Mr Alvo is the current group CCO. LATAM president Ignacio Cueto stated: "We made this announcement at a time of solidity and stability for the company. Today, we offer unrivalled connectivity in the region and with the world. We are one of the world's most punctual airlines, we offer a service that is recognised by millions of our customers and we have considerably strengthened our financial position". The announcement follows a planned succession process initiated in 2017 and considered internal and external candidates. LATAM's board made the unanimous decision to appoint Roberto Alvo, taking into consideration 18 years of experience in the company with successful roles in finance, fleet, planning and in recent years, leading its commercial area.
