Rolls-Royce launched the Trent 1000 XE with durability enhancements aimed at increasing time-on-wing and reducing emissions, including a redesigned high pressure turbine blade cooling system that enabled a 40% increase in cooling flow.1 LATAM previously ordered five Boeing 787s with GE Aerospace GEnx engines, taking its 787 fleet to 46 aircraft once deliveries were completed.2 LATAM earlier mitigated Trent 1000 maintenance impacts by wet leasing an A330 from Wamos Air and dry leasing a 777-200 from Boeing Capital.3
