KLM: notes increased competition and pressure on yield

KLM VP network planning Pieter Groeneveld, speaking at the CAPA-ACTE Global Summit, stated (28-Oct-2016) competition has increased and put pressure on yield in recent years. He noted that capacity added by Gulf carriers over the past six years have tripled while North Atlantic capacity has increased significantly with the entry of WOW Air, Norwegian Air Shuttle and WestJet on nonstop services between Europe and North America.
