Kenya Airways removing seats from two 787s for cargo operations

Kenya Airways, via its official Twitter account, stated (16-Jan-2021) it operated a cargo only service from Amsterdam with a Boeing 787-8 aircraft on 16-Jan-2021. Group MD and CEO Allan Kilavuka said the carrier will operate two 787s with seats removed for cargo services, increasing capacity by 10 tonnes per aircraft (Nation Media Group, 18-Jan-2021). One aircraft has completed modifications and is awaiting regulatory approval before redeployment. Mr Kilavuka said modification of the second aircraft "should be done in the next one month or so".
