Jetstar Group notes airport growth 'a real issue' in rightsizing development

Jetstar Group CEO Jayne Hrdlicka, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, said (04-Aug-2016) airport growth is "a real issue," noting: "They inevitably need to grow and that growth needs to be rightsized and shaped for the customers they're serving." Ms Hrdlicka continued: "For airport developments to take place, to spend $1 more than necessary to serve those customers is crazy because it ultimately comes back to customers," adding: "If it's not needed, if it's not necessary, it's bad for business, it's bad for aviation, it's bad for the airport and it's bad for local economies, and we will ultimately end up moving capacity around."
