Jetstar expects more than 1.5m pax for Jetstar Japan in first year of operations

Qantas CEO Alan Joyce, addressing the Tourism and Transport Forum in Sydney, stated (06-Feb-2013) the reception for Jetstar Japan, launched in Jul-2012, has been "outstanding". He noted: "Before launching, Jetstar Japan took more than 100,000 bookings, and we have just announced three new domestic destinations. The airline is leading its low cost carrier competitors, with the largest number of aircraft, higher load factors out of Narita, and the strongest perceptions of brand value.
