JetSMART CEO: High airport costs threatening travel growth

JetSMART Chile CEO Estuardo Ortiz, speaking at the CAPA Airline Leader Summit Latin America & Caribbean, said (09-Sep-2025) high airport costs are threatening travel growth in the region as "it's really about the out of pocket for consumers to fly". According to Mr Ortiz, the industry "would be better off to bet on volume with a lower airport fee, and that would bring in more money".
