Jet Airways planning to join airline alliance soon

Jet Airways Chairman, Naresh Goyal, stated the carrier plans to join an airline alliance soon - a change from Jet’s previous policy of reaching agreements with carriers individually (Live Mint, 03-Mar-2010). Lufthansa CEO, Wolfgang Mayrhuber, stated in Feb-2010 that the Star Alliance is interested in allowing two Indian carriers into the alliance, and is sponsoring Air India’s entry. British Airways is meanwhile sponsoring Kingfisher Airlines' entry into the oneworld alliance.
