Japan domestic pax down 3%, international pax down 15% in Aug-2011

Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (Japan MLIT) reported (16-Nov-2011) the following traffic highlights in Aug-2011:

• Passenger numbers:
  • Domestic: 8.1 million, -3.3% year-on-year;
  • International: 1.2 million, -14.5%;
    • China: 266,141, -21.9%;
    • South Korea: 158,912, -11.9%;
    • Other Asia: 396,417, +0.9;
    • Americas: 132,846, -3.7%;
    • Pacific Ocean: 126,452, -33.9%;
    • Europe: 105,587, -24.2%;
    • Oceania: 11,085, -47.5%;
• Passenger load factor:
  • Domestic: 72.7%;
  • International: 79.2%;
• Cargo volume:
  • Domestic: 75,639 tonnes, -7.0%;
  • International: 82,047 tonnes, -25.7%.
