Japan Airlines appoints new Group President and Executive Vice President

Japan Airlines Group announced (27-Jan-2010) the appointments of the Group President and Executive VP, who will take office with effect from 01-Feb-2010, joining Chairman, Kazuo Inamori and President, Masaru Onishi, as follows:

  • President: Masaru Onishi was elected as President of the Group's holding company, Japan Airlines Corporation (JALS), and main air transport operator, Japan Airlines International (JALI). He will also be assigned the role of COO for the holding company. Mr Onishi joined Japan Airlines in 1978 and for the six months prior to his new assignment, was serving as President of Japan Air Commuter and an Executive Officer of Japan Airlines International;
  • VP: Hisao Taguchi will be assuming the role of Executive VP of the Group and of JALI, after serving as an Executive Officer in charge of the overall operations of the JAL Group in the Kyushu region since Apr-2009. [more]
