JAL to post loss of USD1.7bn in 12 months to Mar-2010: report

Japan Airlines is expected to report an operating loss of approximately JPY160 billion (USD1.7 billion) in the 12 months ended Mar-2010 (Sankei, 26-Apr-2010). The airline's subsidiary, Japan Airlines International, reportedly generated a small operating profit in the month of Mar-2010. The carrier is expected to report a loss in Apr-2010 as a result of flight cancellations from European airspace closures.
