Catchment Analysis: Norwich-Malaga return backed by demand

Premium Insight

Malaga is one of the most popular overseas leisure destinations from the UK, yet Norwich - on the east coast of England - remains without a nonstop link despite strong demand from its local catchment.

The market was previously served year-round by defunct UK carrier Flybe, which operated a 2x-weekly Embraer 195 service offering about 472 two-way weekly seats until withdrawing the route in Oct-2019.

Since then, passengers have resorted to using competing airports despite continued strong demand.

Data from the Aviation Week Catchment Analyser provides insights into this route pair.
