IATA forecast airlines would require between 146 million and 236 million CORSIA Eligible Emissions Units (EEUs) for the first phase from 2024 to 2026, but noted the current supply was limited and depended on government authorisations for release of EEUs from national registries, with only 15.8 million credits available from Guyana as of mid-2025. IATA emphasised the need for further state authorisations to ensure compliance and market robustness1.
