IATA: Latin American governments need to stop treating aviation as a cash cow

IATA regional VP for the Americas Peter Cerda, speaking on CAPA TV, said (16/17-Apr-2018) the body is seeing "some progress" with governments reducing impediments to travel in the Latin America region and barriers and charges being imposed on the air transport industry. Mr Cerda said regional governments "need to change the mindset in terms of considering aviation as a cash cow" although some governments are taking "proactive steps". [more - CAPA TV]
