IATA condemns Ukraine’s air navigation rates

IATA has reportedly recommended EUROCONTROL withdraw Ukraine's membership due to the country's excessive air navigation rates (RIA Novosti, 07-Dec-2010). IATA Director General and CEO, Giovanni Bisignani, has previously asked Ukraine's Transport Minister, Kostiantyn Yefymenko, to lower rates, saying the system is among the least efficient and most expensive in Europe. The government, however, announced a 28-39% increase in rates in Oct-2010.
