International Airlines Group (IAG) CEO Willie Walsh stated (25-Apr-2012) the company "will not consolidate simply to get bigger". "There are many examples to show that mere size does not work. We will do it by retaining cultures and brands of partners – in doing so retaining the customer proposition that the partner developed. We plan to be a multinational, multibrand airline. And the places we will do it is where it strengthens us on key routes," he said.
