Hannover Airport previously said the northern runway modernisation would be delivered in three phases, with closures planned in Apr/May-2026 and from Oct-2027 to Jun-2028.1 The airport also scheduled multiple short maintenance closures of both runways in 2024-2025, with operations routinely switched to the alternate runway.2 3 4 5 Comparable runway closures for maintenance were also planned at Hamburg and Frankfurt in 2026.6 7
