Fraport previously closed Frankfurt Airport's central 25C/07C runway from 19-Sep-2021 to 04-Oct-2021 for renovation, renewing around 82,000sqm of surface and replacing 750 halogen lights with LED equipment.1 Fraport also planned to install a 2800m photovoltaic system along Runway 18 West, with CEO Stefan Schulte stating it aimed to operate Frankfurt Airport under a Net Zero model by 2045.2
