Garuda in talks with US Export-Import Bank for loan

Garuda Indonesia President Director, Emirsyah Satar, stated the carrier is in talks with US Export-Import Bank for a USD1.5 billion-2.0 billion loan to finance orders to lease 10 B777-300ERs and 10 B737-800s (Reuters/The Jakarta Post, 21-Jun-2010). Mr Satar added Garuda is also in talks with "several" lessors to combine financing for the orders. The CEO also commented that the carrier plans to launch services to Taipei and increase operations to Shanghai and Beijing this year.
