Finnair CCO reports benefits from IAG and JAL JVs

Finnair CCO Juha Jarvinen, speaking at the CAPA Airlines In Transition Summit, said (10-Mar-2016) there was "huge discussion" at the airline on whether to enter a JV with IAG. Mr Jarvinen said Finnair made the decision based on the importance of the corporate segment and the need to be part of a bigger corporate platform. Mr Jarvinen said the agreement also improves the airline's position in its home market and provides a platform for growth. Mr Jarvinen said the carrier's JV with Japan Airlines (JAL) has also enabled growth.
