Fianna Fáil destroyed Irish tourism: Ryanair

Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary stated (09-Feb-2011) Ireland's Fianna Fáil has "destroyed Irish tourism" over the past five years. The CEO stated that traffic volumes across Irish airport had plunged due to "Fianna Fáil's mismanagement and its monopoly protection policies". The airline stated it is "remarkable" that in light of the wider economic situation in Ireland, "the DAA ... failed to respond to Ryanair's written offer to grow 4 million passengers annually at Dublin Airport". Ryanair: "Fianna Fáil can't be trusted with Irish tourism. They welched on their previous election promises to break up the DAA monopoly and Fianna Fáil ministers have in recent years destroyed Irish tourism by introducing a tourist tax and ordering the Regulator to rubberstamp the DAA monopoly's inflation busting price increases, which have destroyed Irish tourism."
