Farnborough: Mitsubishi receives no new ordes; targeting component output by year-end

Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp Executive VP Sales and Customer Support, Masao Yamagami, stated the manufacturer will commence manufacturing components later in 2010 for production of its regional jets, but added that it was unable to announce any new orders at Farnborough (Dow Jones, 21-Jul-2010). Mr Yamagami added that discussions with potential customers continued, with the company hoping to announce another agreement later this year. Mitsubishi Aircraft President, Hideo Egawa, added that the company is currently finalising the design of the aircraft and will commence outputting components in Autumn ready to start production. He estimated the market for regional jets at more than 5,000 aircraft, adding Mitsubishi Aircraft "hoped to get at least 1,000 orders."
