European Commission reportedly to clear Virgin Atlantic-Delta Air Lines agreement

European Commission reportedly plans to give unconditional approval to Delta Air Lines’ plans to purchase a 49% stake in Virgin Atlantic (Reuters, 10-Jun-2013). The stake purchase will see the airlines launch a joint venture to allow both carriers to offer more services from London Heathrow and compete with American Airlines, British Airways and United Airlines. European Commission is expected to issue a decision by 20-Jun-2013.
