Etihad contributes USD4bn to economy in 2009; to operate to every continent in five years

Etihad Airways CEO, James Hogan, reiterated his view the airline would break even in 2011, adding Etihad's contribution to the Abu Dhabi economy was USD4 billion in 2009, in addition to its direct contribution in terms of its own revenues (Arabian Business, 23-Jun-2010). Mr Hogan said the carrier plans to operate services to destinations on every continent in the next five years, with South America the missing link in its network (Arabian Business, 23-Jun-2010).
