Etihad Airways' strategy is 'pro-competitive': CEO

Etihad Airways president and CEO James Hogan said (03-Jun-2014) Gulf carriers are "vigorous competitors" with each other and Etihad developed a strategy of growth through partnership to provide the scale needed to match established competitors. Mr Hogan said Etihad became a major focus of larger competitors, which "feared and opposed its investment strategy." Mr Hogan said, "Our strategy is pro-competitive. We work with all partners for mutual gain, and within competition and ownership rules.
